Elva Mae believes in celebrating women, and women-owned businesses. If you live in Atlanta, you may have seen the Ace Kouture ad on Facebook for their pop-up over the weekend. I loved the designs from what I saw on their page, so I decided to go check it out. Our brand ambassador, Jada Brown, was nice enough to meet me there. The pop-up was held at a hotel in Atlanta. Upon entering the room, we were kindly greeted by three lovely ladies, one of whom I would find out was the owner and designer of all of the beautiful styles they carried. The ladies helped us both find styles that complimented our body types, and assisted us in the fitting room. Jada and I wanted one of everything! I was so impressed with the unique designs and beautiful colors, that I had to know more about this brand! We introduced ourselves to Evangeline, who was such a sweetheart and willingly answered our questions. She explained how she sourced the fabrics from all over Africa, to get it ready for handmade production in Nigeria. From there, the finished products are shipped to Canada and Atlanta to be sent to customers internationally. I asked her if she would be willing to be interviewed for our Mae Babes, and she kindly obliged. It was such a great encounter with another female business owner. Remember: collaboration over competition, and be sure to embrace, love, value, & affirm yourselves, and others.
Until next week, Mae Babes!
